Founding tutor cohort

Tutorium is actively welcoming independent tutors in Maths, English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and related subjects while the public directory grows. Early tutors can help make the matching experience clearer for the learners who arrive first.

  • A profile preview and clear application route.
  • You set the Tutor Fee and lesson format; the tutor receives the full stated Tutor Fee and the separate customer service fee is shown before confirmation.
  • DBS and qualification evidence reviewed before a public profile is intended to appear.
  • Approval is not employment or a promise of work; tutors remain independent.

What a Tutorium tutor can publish

  • Subjects and learner levels you support.
  • A clear introduction, teaching approach and relevant experience.
  • Online or in-person lesson options, service area and published rate.
  • Recurring availability windows that learners can use as a starting point.
  • Useful learning resources and a focused lesson conversation.

What happens before a profile is public

Create an adult tutor account, accept the current Tutor Agreement, complete the profile and submit the evidence requested for review. Tutorium reviews DBS evidence and a qualification certificate before a profile is intended to appear publicly. The public profile shows summaries and trust indicators; private documents are never published.

Approval is not employment, a guarantee of work, a safeguarding guarantee or a promise that every learner request will be suitable. Tutors teach independently and set the Tutor Fee for their service.

Make a profile useful to learners

  • Name the subjects and levels precisely rather than using a broad “all subjects” claim.
  • Explain the learner goal you are best placed to support.
  • State whether lessons are online, in person or both.
  • Add a realistic rate and availability window, then keep it current.
  • Use the profile preview before applying and remove private contact or document details.

For people referring a tutor

A referral is only an invitation. Use the privacy-safe referral message builder and let the tutor decide whether to apply independently.
